What Are Glass-Glass Solar Module?
Glass-glass solar modules, as their name implies, feature a layer of glass on both the front external elements such as extreme temperatures, strong winds, or hail, but also significantly enhance the module's durability and efficiency. The double-glass design is applicable to both monocrystaline and polycrystaline solar modules, and even some thin-film solar modules on the market are made with double glazing.
The protective glass on both sides of the solar module is typically a specially treated thin glass, coated with an anti-reflective (AR) layer.
This AR coating is designed to minimize reflection losses when sunlight strikes, thereby increasing the overall conversation enfficiency of the solar module. In certain special cases, glass-glass aolar modules can also be made semi-transparent, allowing sunlight to pass through the glass between cells. This unique design of glass-glass solar modules is especially suitable for applications such as patio covers or carports.
